Dear Parents and Guardians,
Right after the Spring break NewBrook School is offering a program for 4th to 6th grade boys called Velocity. There will be 6 after school sessions (one per week) from 3pm to 5pm. Each session (or activity module) creates an environment where boys can challenge themselves physically and mentally. The program is sponsored by BlueCross BlueShield of Vermont whose goal is to provide boys with "as many opportunities as possible to be healthy and active." It will be a time to have fun, do great activities and learn. The program also encompasses: common issues boys face, increasing self esteem, building confidence and communication skills and encouraging healthy and active life styles.
The cost of the six week/six sessions is $60, and there are full and partial scholarships available. No boy should be unable to attend due to the registration fee. Your son will be bringing home registration forms and more information soon, so, please, if you would like your son to be a part of this great program keep an eye out for the Velocity materials that will be sent home. This first year BlueCross/BlueShield has a suggested limit of 20 boys and we will take registrations on a first come first served basis.
Chris Pratt and I will be coordinating this program with experts coming in for each session to do the activities. If you have questions please contact me or Chris.
Thanks! Gary Keiser
