Winter Sports

Winter Sports is a time-honored tradition in the West River Valley that gives students in grades K-5 the opportunity to get outside, move their bodies and learn more about all the great active opportunities that make our state such a fun place to live!

Details about the upcoming winter sports program will be communicated through schools in the fall.

ALL Winter Sports Programming will need as much adult volunteer support as possible. If you are interested in volunteering to help with skating, downhill skiing, or x-c skiing, please let your school's principal know. Additionally- all adult volunteers will need to have fingerprints/background checks completed before participating. Call/email Meg Wright for more information and to make an appointment 802-365-9510.

JISP is the Junior Instructional Snowsports Program, an opportunity for students in grades K-5 to ski and ride on beautiful Stratton Mountain, made possible by the generosity of Stratton Resort and parent volunteers. JISP passes are available for WRED elementary students and families. CLICK HERE to learn more.

Programs like JISP will depend heavily on parent/community volunteers to transport students, supervise them during transition times (gearing up/down), and teach lessons to small groups. The program will simply not run without this support. Consider getting involved if you can.
